Animal Disaster Preparedness: New Revised Booklet to be Released as a Podcast

Despite animal rescue that goes back to the the early 1900s and the recent passage of the PETS Act (Pet Evacuation Transportation & Standards Act), animal disaster rescue education and efforts still fall by the wayside.

The recent fires in California found people still ill prepared for disasters and rescue agencies had little thought for the animals.

There is an answer–but it is up to the pet owners to prepare.

My booklet, Disaster Preparedness for Pet Owners & Pet Professionals was recently updated and a special podcast will be released this week.

Don’t wait for another disaster to hit–take action now!

Gypsy: Lion Cub in Animal Training School

I thought you might want to see some snaps of Gypsy. She is an African lion club in training for work as an animal actor.

Wild animals do not make good pets and I want to make it clear that this cub is not a pet. Gypsy belongs to Randy Miller of Predators in Action and is already in school to be an animal actor. This pictures were taken on a day she was out getting socialized to new people and situations.

You can see her getting more and more amped up by looking at her eyes and then her ears and eyes.

She is only eleven weeks old in these pictures. Anyway, after a while she wore herself out and then suddenly just fell asleep where she was playing.

Pretty cute–but don’t be fooled. She is going to be one heck of a lioness!
