1. Tales from the Trips (Latest News)
===============================================
It is hard to believe that this is my last monthly newsletter for the year.

Here in the mountains the temperatures plummeted and we had
a few snow storms but the weather continues to warm up in between
and many of the trees have buds on them!

One of the interesting things that happened recently was when my
hiking buddy, a dog named Shadow, showed up on my porch
unescorted.

She has only been over a couple of times so I assumed her mom or dad
was with her—but no such luck.

I clearly got that she came to get me to go retrieve her sister dog.

To make a long story short, they spent that day and the next with me
and when I arrived home with her sister, Shadow went crazy.

They have been more lovey-dovey with me ever since.

Thanks to those of you who participated in the book blog tour contest!
The winners of the books are:
-Amanda
-Vanessa
-Kristin
-Jasmin
-Eindy
-Deborah

Through the efforts of those who participated, we made it to top favorites over on AllTop Pets during the blog tour.

Way to go guys!

In between that promo and other activities, I’ve been staying close to
home working on some new projects which includes the premium
newsletters that will be something useful for many of you in the new year.

There are different newsletters for each topic (I’ll talk about it below).

The first premium newsletter to launch in November was animal careers.
So far I’ve sent out announcements for animal jobs and internships for
careers with animals and the announcement on the interview with colleague Julie Scardina.

Also, the first animal career coaching call was also held and members
of the coaching program will have access to the interviews with experts
beginning this week.

For those not in that coaching program, you have to be a member of the
premium list to be able to purchase the recordings.

Although I will still be sending out this monthly newsletter, Ark Animal
Tracks, the premium email lists are where I will answer questions and
give out more meaty information.

They will help compensate me for taking the time to do so since I already have a ton of questions in the queue and usually make my living from tackling those types of questions.

Speaking about change, the blogs will be morphing over into a new
format as well.

At the moment I am toying with going back to once a week posts
on Ark Animals and then once a month on the others, if I don’t merge them.

Hopefully you have joined me on Facebook and Twitter (@arklady)
since I regularly post things of interest. Also, you can join the conversation, comment or post your photos. Just click “like” to join me on Facebook.

Baby Duck & Carp (Video)

I’ve been swamped so here is a gratuitous video. What do you think of the baby duck that looks like it is feeding the carp?
