Bad Behavior on eBay

So how about this for interesting scuttlebutt:

From the LA Times Blog 2:57 PM, February 13, 2009:

A search on eBay this morning came up with opportunities to “Buy Now” or bid on guided hunts of grizzly, black and brown bears, mountain lions and wolves as well as numerous species of hooved mammals and birds. Interestingly, the site does not allow for the sale of products such as teeth, claws and rugs from certain animals, including those of bear and mountain lion.

“Canned Hunts” Restriction. After working with the Humane Society of the United States, we have decided that listings for canned hunts that guarantee the killing of an animal violate our Animal & Wildlife Products policy and will not be allowed.

Geez they had to be educated about canned hunts being against their wildlife products policy and then how is it that this stuff got posted anyway?

Thanks to these groups for jumping on the issue and others that have arisen:

Big Wildlife, Raincoast Conservation, Alaska Wildlife Alliance, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
