The Aftermath

It has been a while since I’ve been into update. Most of the animal rescue teams began leaving the Hurricane Katrina/Rita shelters and staging areas around October 7th. Although the main efforts have slowed, the reuniting efforts remain as a big hurdle. So many animals were relocated and have been waiting to be claimed. Many are just going up for adoption. Funny how many people want to adopt a disaster victim animal when so many others are waiting at shelters around the nation.

Anyway, with the recent earthquakes and other disasters highlighted in the news I just want to remind you that you should be prepared to evacuate with your pets at a moment’s notice.

I’ll be adding different commentary on this blog as time passes. Keep checking back–or subscribe to the RSS feed to get any updates.
